From a sketch on a tablecloth to a high end cube.
What is the perfect cubic shape for a radio? The shape is simple, but the way to get there is complicated as everyone has a different answer to this question. Where to put the control buttons, where does the music come out, how big does the cube have to be? Having a lot of people involved means a lot of answers, which were collected together over a meal in an Italian restaurant, with a design drawn with a ball-point pen. This was drawn on a tablecloth, which appeared on the bill at the end of the evening. Later on, this tablecloth served as the starting point for more than 30 further designs, until the team of designers around Bernhard Geisen, Jakab Barna and Martin Sach settled on the shape of the QUUBI as it is today.
